Puerto Ventanas and Puchuncaví Promote Cultural Event with Gastronomy and Classic Cars

Within the framework of the national holiday celebrations and Puchuncaví's anniversary, Puerto Ventanas S.A., a subsidiary of the Sigdo Koppers group, together with the municipality, promoted the cultural event "Sabores, Folclor y Motores" (Flavors, Folklore, and Engines), which gathered over a thousand people at the Horcón breakwater.

The event highlighted gastronomy from local establishments such as Cocinería La Nenita, La Picá de la Araña, and empanadas Don Raúl and La Terraza, who offered various preparations enjoyed by tourists, residents, exhibitors, and local fishermen. Likewise, the event included the participation of different groups and artists from the commune, as well as sustainable tourism organizations like Quinta Sup, and an exhibition of over 40 cars from the 1940s to the 1980s, organized by the Volvo Club, classic CAA5 pickup trucks, and the Ford A Club, where their drivers could share with fans of nuts and engines.

During the activity, held at the Horcón breakwater, the mayor of Puchuncaví, Marcos Morales, celebrated that these types of initiatives allow for the promotion of tourism and the local economy through the public-private alliance generated between the municipality, Puerto Ventanas S.A., and different groups of entrepreneurs who made the day possible.

"We are at a breakwater that is an investment that cost more than 10 billion pesos and is now made available to the community. That is why I congratulate the fishermen, the Puerto Ventanas company... and our gastronomic entrepreneurs who have given flavor to this encounter that has to do with our local gastronomy and with the fact that we are a truly tourist destination. We have everything to welcome visitors now in September and also in summer and throughout the year. It is a privileged, also strategic, area that is made available to the region and the country to offer the best it has," said the communal chief.

For his part, Luis Fuentes, sustainable operations manager of Puerto Ventanas S.A., highlighted the ability to contribute to the communities and tourism of Puchuncaví, as it is a strategic commune for the country. "We are very happy to be able to participate together with the municipality within the framework of the celebration of its 82nd anniversary in this exhibition that seeks to enhance tourism in the area and particularly a classic car show which is a gift that Puerto Ventanas gives to the commune of Puchuncaví, and with this, we also seek to highlight the high tourist level of the commune and promote the local economy and commerce."

Likewise, Adriana Tapia from the town of Horcón commented that she finds the activity "wonderful that they are promoting tourism in Puchuncaví, which has 22 localities, and we must emphasize and work on it. This breakwater, I find, allows for many activities, and this car show is wonderful, as is the gastronomy, so come visit our town, everyone is invited."

The entire day was accompanied by live music, featuring the Municipal Folkloric Ballet, Chaguales de Las Ventanas, Tradiciones de La Greda, the Municipal Orchestra, Las Torcazas de Loncura, and the Latin American music and popular singing workshop, who brought together more than 100 artists from the area.
