Shipping Solutions, DP World's maritime services division, christened its new methanol dual-fuel vessel, DP World London, in a ceremony held in Aarhus, Denmark.
Founded in Aarhus in 1977 as Unifeeder, DP World's Shipping Solutions division has grown into a short-sea and feeder shipping operator, serving customers across Europe and beyond. Today, it is part of DP World's integrated Maritime Services portfolio.
Martin Gaard Christiansen, CEO of Shipping Solutions EAM, DP World, stated that "this is a proud moment for our Shipping Solutions team. Aarhus is where our story began and remains central to our identity. Our DNA is built on maintaining close customer relationships, keeping our word, remaining calm in volatile markets, and finding practical solutions when conditions change. This dual-fuel vessel reflects both our heritage and the future we are building."

The DP World London is a 1,250 TEU containership built in China and delivered in April 2026. Owned by the German company Elbdeich Reederei and operated by DP World's Shipping Solutions division, this Portuguese-flagged vessel will operate on the Northern European route.
With a length of 148 meters, the vessel is equipped with a modern five-cylinder main engine and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) technology to reduce emissions and comply with international environmental regulations. It carried out its first bunkering in Rotterdam in June, with Unibarge as the bunkering partner and Methanex as the methanol supplier.
