California challenges Trump administration's cancellation of offshore wind leases
California Attorney General Rob Bonta and the California Energy Commission filed a notice of intent on June 23 to challenge the Trump administration's deal to cancel the Golden State Wind offshore lease in exchange for fossil fuel investments. The state contends the agreement violates the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act and jeopardizes more than $100 million in investments. The administration has promised nearly $2.6 billion in reimbursements across multiple canceled offshore wind projects.
