Exports from the Bio Bio Region in July 2026 grew by 9.5% over twelve months, mainly influenced by the Industry sector.
According to information provided by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), shipments from this segment reached USD 387.9 million, a figure that experienced a 9.4% increase, with products worth USD 33.3 million more being dispatched than twelve months ago.
Likewise, the sectors that showed an increase were Agriculture and Forestry (15.6%) and Fishing (95.6%), translating to USD 1.2 million and USD 1.0 million, respectively, compared to the same month in 2025.
Meanwhile, the Mining sector, which sold USD 0.2 million abroad, showed a 71.8% decrease in the annual comparison. Shipments from the Rest of Exports sector registered a contraction of 59.0% in the same period.
In the case of the Industry sector, the result for July 2026 was mainly due to the improved performance of Metal Products (201.5%), Food (4.9%), and Basic Iron and Steel Industries (210.0%).
The three activities that concentrated the most significant amounts, ordered from highest to lowest participation, came from the Industry sector and were: Manufacture of pulp, paper, and cardboard with USD 131.8 million (33.0%), Food with USD 99.3 million (24.9%), and Forestry with USD 75.5 million (18.9%).
Exports to the continents of America (42.4%) and Asia (38.8%) concentrated the largest amounts. In particular, shipments to America, totaling USD 169.4 million, showed a 36.5% increase compared to the same month of the previous year, equivalent to an additional USD 45.3 million.
Amounts dispatched to Asia experienced a 10.5% decrease, registering shipments of USD 154.8 million, which meant a reduction of USD 18.1 million.
Europe received shipments from the region totaling USD 64.5 million, a figure 57.3% higher than that observed twelve months ago, representing an additional USD 23.5 million. Exports to Africa reached USD 6.9 million, meaning USD 14.9 million less than in July 2025, which represented a decrease of 68.5%. USD 3.8 million were sent to Oceania with a negative year-on-year variation of 19.6%, i.e., USD 0.9 million less.
China, the United States, Belgium, South Korea, and Peru were the five main destinations for regional shipments, generating returns of USD 266.7 million, corresponding to 66.8% of the total exported.
