Vectum Solutions, an Arica-based technology company that develops solutions to digitalize and streamline the logistics management of cargo in transit between Chile and Bolivia, has appointed Alejandro Venegas as its general manager, a position he officially assumed this September.
The appointment comes at a stage of company consolidation, following more than a year of technological development and various prototyping phases, a process that has allowed a functional version of its platform to be put into operation with real clients.
The solution seeks to centralize and facilitate various processes associated with logistics operations, starting with the management of service payments. The platform allows these services to be formalized through invoicing and documentary support, in addition to centralizing the information associated with each operation, with the aim of contributing to reducing cargo transit times.
Vectum's development has been supported by Corfo, through the Semilla Inicia program, within the framework of the solution's development, validation, and implementation.
During the last month, the currently operative version of the platform has allowed the processing and execution of approximately 50 services for three Bolivian companies. This experience has served to commercially validate the solution, as well as to incorporate improvements based on the needs detected during the first operations.
The company currently manages services associated with operations in Arica and Iquique and plans to progressively expand its coverage to new needs linked to cargo in transit and the functioning of the logistics corridor between Chile and Bolivia.
In this context, Venegas assumed the general management with the objective of strengthening the executive leadership of the company and accompanying a new stage of commercial and technological development.
The executive has experience in technological development, project management, and artificial intelligence-based solutions, in addition to being familiar with Vectum's evolution, having previously participated in different stages related to the development and implementation of the platform.
Among his main responsibilities will be the coordination of Vectum's operations, both through its platform and through the in-person service the company maintains in Arica, as well as commercial development and the evolution of new solutions aimed at facilitating logistics processes.
"This new challenge represents an opportunity to contribute from a more comprehensive perspective to Vectum's growth and to continue developing solutions that respond to real needs of logistics operations. Our purpose is to help make operations in the Chile-Bolivia corridor simpler and more efficient," said Venegas.
The executive added that the experience gained during the validation period has made it possible to identify new development opportunities beyond the first services implemented.
"We started by addressing logistics payment management, but during this process, we have identified other situations where there are significant opportunities for improvement. The idea is to continue evolving the platform and developing solutions that generate concrete value for companies operating on this route," he stated.
The company will hold the official presentation of its platform to the industry on September 23, an event that will be streamed live and will be open to stakeholders linked to foreign trade and the logistics sector.
During the event, Vectum will present the functioning of its solution and its proposal as a management tool aimed at streamlining logistics payments, formalizing services through invoicing and documentary support, and centralizing information for each operation.
Based on the experience gained from its first operations, the company plans to progressively advance in its commercial opening and expand the platform's functionalities to address other frictions present in cargo in transit operations, through greater management, digitalization, and integration of processes.
