ADM, a company focused on food processing and raw materials, announced the expansion of its operations in Scotland with new storage and berthing capacity at Greenock Port, part of Peel Ports Group.
This deep-water location enhances ADM's import, storage, and distribution capabilities, while strengthening access to key feed ingredients.
This expansion builds upon ADM's existing operations at Glasgow's King George V dock. Together, these two locations create a more integrated logistics network on the River Clyde, increasing handling capacity, improving supply chain flexibility, and optimizing service for feed customers across the region.
Jonathan Lane, Managing Director of ADM Agriculture Ltd and ADM Country Manager for the UK, stated that "extending our presence from Glasgow to Greenock is a significant step for ADM's operations in the region. The increased capacity and logistics will allow us to operate with greater efficiency, strengthen supply chain resilience, and meet the evolving needs of our customers throughout Scotland. Our relationship with Peel Ports Group has been fundamental to the growth of ADM Agriculture in Scotland in recent years."
David Huck, Chief Operating Officer for Ports and Marine at Peel Ports Group, added that "we are pleased to strengthen our long-standing relationship with ADM through this expansion at Greenock Port. ADM is a valuable strategic partner, and this investment demonstrates the importance of the River Clyde as a gateway for agricultural imports supplying Scotland. We look forward to continuing our collaboration to drive growth, efficiency, and resilience across the entire supply chain."
This investment comes at a time when the Scottish feed market continues to evolve, with a growing demand for imported raw materials. ADM's increased presence in Greenock will help meet these changing market needs, while supporting the long-term competitiveness of Scottish agriculture.
The Greenock facilities will be operational by the end of this year.
