The Port of Ningbo-Zhoushan exceeded the mark of 8,500 TEU daily in sea-rail intermodal transport volume for two consecutive days, setting a new record.
Since the beginning of this year, the sea-rail intermodal transport team at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port has modernized the operating system and improved the efficiency of the port's collection and distribution, as well as its overall cargo handling capacity.
In parallel, the team expanded its land transport network and optimized the design of the intermodal transport network. Through measures such as adding new intermodal routes, expanding station coverage, and increasing the frequency of key railway services, a sea-rail intermodal logistics channel connecting inland areas was created, ensuring the stability of logistics, industrial, and supply chains.
After Typhoon Dolphin, the accumulation of goods and the concentrated release of maritime transport demand put significant pressure on production organization. In response, the sea-rail intermodal transport team at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port communicated with the China Railway Shanghai Group, terminals such as North Container Terminal No. 1, North Container Terminal No. 3, and Zhenjiang Terminal, as well as freight forwarders, to coordinate the operational capacity of the various railway and port stations.
In this way, the flow of sea-rail intermodal container cargo was scientifically allocated, production organization was optimized, production elements such as trains, gantry cranes, yards, and trucks were coordinated, and the operation of the entire "delivery-loading-unloading" chain was ensured.
