Óscar Puente and IDB Sign Cooperation Agreement on Transport and Infrastructure

The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of Spain, Óscar Puente, and the President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ilan Goldfajn, signed a memorandum of understanding in Miami to strengthen cooperation in transport and infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean.

During his participation in the LAC Transport Forum 2026, Puente also held bilateral meetings with institutional representatives from Brazil, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Honduras. The meetings addressed topics related to transport and infrastructure in the region.

The agreement between Spain and the IDB establishes a framework to promote cooperation on transport and infrastructure projects. The meetings with Latin American countries complement this collaboration agenda and allow for addressing specific development and connectivity opportunities.
