Sallaum Lines announced the launch of Sallaum Logistics Ltd., a European company specializing in automotive logistics that extends Sallaum's maritime vehicle transport network to land transport.
Sallaum Logistics will operate as an independent land logistics company focused on the movement of finished vehicles. The firm is designed for car manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), dealership groups, fleet operators, shipping companies, and logistics partners who need reliable, transparent, and professionally executed land transport.
This launch connects Sallaum's maritime and land operations into a single vehicle transport chain, extending its expertise from sea to road. While Sallaum Lines continues to focus on global Ro-Ro maritime transport, Sallaum Logistics will support the next stage: the movement of vehicles from ports, distribution centers, and logistics hubs to dealerships and final destinations across Europe.
"For years, customers have trusted Sallaum Lines for the reliable, disciplined, and careful transport of vehicles across oceans. Sallaum Logistics extends this commitment to land transport, offering its automotive sector partners a land logistics company based on the same principles of safety, transparency, and customer commitment. This represents a natural continuation of vehicle logistics, from sea transport to land," stated Sami Sallaum, President of Sallaum Lines.
The company's services will encompass comprehensive finished vehicle logistics solutions, including transport from European factories and inland terminals to ports for international shipments, cross-border transport, fleet distribution services, port-to-dealership and port-to-distribution center deliveries, and vice versa. Sallaum Logistics will also offer vehicle processing services, pre-delivery inspection, and storage at selected locations, leveraging its current operations at the Port of Antwerp.
Sallaum Logistics will launch with an initial fleet of 50 truck and trailer units, with plans to expand to 300 owned trucks by 2029. The fleet will utilize modern multi-vehicle transporters with capacity for up to 10 units depending on the vehicle type, route, and road regulations of each country.
Headquartered in Lithuania, the company will begin operations in major European automotive markets, including Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, France, the Czech Republic, and Poland, with plans for subsequent expansion to key European markets with port connections.
The network will be designed around major corridors connecting ports with dealerships and distribution centers in Western and Central Europe, linking important automotive logistics hubs such as Antwerp, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, and Marseille, as well as inland distribution centers.
