South Carolina Ports (SC Ports)' Smart Pool program has expanded its direct chassis leasing program to provide support for accelerated logistics in the southeastern United States market.
By leasing chassis directly, trucking companies secure better rates for a specified period, ensuring equipment is ready and available when and where it is most needed.
With a fleet of nearly 10,000 GPS-equipped units and competitive daily rates, the Smart Pool program offers shipping companies, trucking carriers, and shippers a key competitive advantage.
"In a dynamic market, where every minute and every dollar counts, reliability is critical for a successful supply chain, especially for manufacturers operating with a just-in-time system and retail distribution centers managing online orders," stated James Caudill, Director of Chassis and Smart Pool at SC Ports.
"Our port-owned and managed chassis fleet enables a seamless process from start to finish. We offer reliable chassis for carriers who need predictability," the executive added.
Carriers, shippers, and drivers benefit from conveniently located terminals, technical assistance, billing transparency, and a dedicated in-house chassis team. The availability of chassis reduces the time spent searching for available equipment, ensuring that the transportation of goods continues without interruptions throughout the southeastern part of the country.
