With the aim of promoting the development of the province of Caravelí, the Vice Minister of Transport, Gabriela Carrasco Carrasco, held a working meeting with the Mayor of the Provincial Municipality, Roberto Soto Riveros.
During the meeting, Provías Nacional (PVN) reported that 80 kilometers of the National Road Network will be addressed by November. This intervention will be carried out with own resources that will be allocated to the supply of fuel and machinery.
Regarding the demand for bridges with larger spans, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) specified that the provincial municipality must submit the corresponding technical files for evaluation.
On the other hand, the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC) reported that the province of Caravelí currently does not have an active investment project for airport infrastructure. Given this, it committed to providing technical assistance to the provincial municipality for the formulation of the technical profile.
In the field of telecommunications, the National Telecommunications Program (Pronatel) announced that WiFi squares and Digital Care Centers (CAD) are already in use, which provide internet service in the province of Caravelí. Therefore, coordination will be made with the municipality to launch a strategy to promote and train the local population on the use of this service among citizens and encourage the interest of various telecommunications operators to expand the offer in the area.
Finally, the National Port Authority (APN) presented the status of port projects with an impact on the area of influence, such as the Marcona Multipurpose Port Project and the Punta Lomas Project, a private initiative that currently has temporary authorization, and assistance was offered in the Port-City development model.
With these actions, the MTC reaffirms its commitment to work in a decentralized and articulated manner with local governments to close infrastructure and connectivity gaps for the benefit of the southern part of the country.
