The Arran Pier at the Port of Ardrossan, Scotland, will be temporarily closed from September 7 to October 8, 2026, while essential works to replace and improve the fenders are carried out.
The works include the installation of new fenders on the Arran and Winton piers, used by vessels operating on the Ardrossan-Brodick route.
These improvements, approved by Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) and CalMac, are designed to strengthen the port's operational capacity for the winter and are part of the short-term measures previously communicated to stakeholders to ensure the continuity of operations in Ardrossan while long-term plans for the port continue to be developed.
For the works to be carried out safely and efficiently, the sites will remain out of service for approximately four and a half weeks. During this time, services to Brodick will operate solely from the Port of Troon.
Priority was given to the replacement of the fenders to minimize the duration of the closure, and the pier will reopen as soon as possible once the works are completed. CMAL indicated that it will take advantage of this period to carry out maintenance and repair tasks on the boarding gangway, the passenger access system, and the terminal building.
CalMac will provide separate information regarding ferry services during the pier closure.
