In the first half of the year, the Luka Koper Group increased container volume at the Port of Koper by 5%, handling 656,150 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU).
This growth was mainly due to investments in manufacturing plants in the hinterland markets, especially those supplying the automotive and logistics industries, which are generating new cargo flows. During this period, we added a new regular container service with the Far East to the three existing services, further strengthening our position as a key gateway for the region.
In the first half of the year, the volume of vehicles sold amounted to 409,538 units, 9% less than in the first half of 2025. While we have somewhat mitigated the negative trend recorded in the first quarter in recent months, exports to Turkey, Israel, and the rest of the Middle East remain low.
Demand in these markets has been affected by the imposition of additional tariffs, the growing presence of Chinese manufacturers, and the geopolitical situation in the region, while vehicle imports from China continue to grow steadily.
The volume of cargo in the dry bulk and general bulk segment rose by 1%, while liquid bulk saw a 6% increase. Due to the decrease in the volume of wood and steel products, the volume of general cargo amounted to 0.5 million tons, 9% less than in the same period last year.
The total volume of maritime cargo in the first half of 2026 reached 11.5 million tons, in line with projected volumes and 1% higher than in the first half of 2025.
Growth in key financial indicators
The Group's net sales revenue reached 206.1 million euros in the first half of 2026, 10% more than in the same period last year. This increase was due to the higher volume of containers handled and related storage revenues.
Operating profit (EBIT) amounted to 57.1 million euros, up 8%, with the increase in net sales revenue being the most positive influencing factor on the result. The Luka Koper Group's net profit in the first half of 2026 was 48.1 million euros, 11% (4.6 million euros) higher than in the first half of 2025.
