In July 2026, the ports of the Tarapacá Region mobilized 1,463,630 tons, a figure that reflected a growth of 28.4% compared to the same month of the previous year.
As a result, the accumulated total for the seventh month of the year closed with a 4% advance, totaling 8,917,645 tons, according to the latest bulletin from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
Growth in exports was the main positive impact of the month, showing an increase of 46.4% within the observed timeframe. This was followed by transit to third parties with an 8.7% rise.
In contrast, cabotage suffered a 100% reduction (registering no movement), while restowing showed a decrease of 14.6% and imports recorded a more moderate decline of 1.2% over twelve months.
Loading and unloading operations totaled 1,442,731 tons, which implied a 29.4% increase over twelve months. Within this segment, exports led the movement with 1,203,733 tons.
Imports, meanwhile, reached 128,535 tons, while transit to third parties amounted to 110,463 tons. Cabotage, for its part, did not contribute any volume during the month.
Regarding cargo handling, 20,900 tons were registered, all corresponding to restowing, which meant a decrease of 14.6% compared to July 2025.
By type of cargo, bulk concentrated most of the movement with 1,147,190 tons, registering an increase of 37.8% over twelve months. The rest of the goods totaled 316,441 tons, showing a growth of 3% compared to the previous year.
