Portchain announced that Westport Moss will use Portchain Connect to improve the quality and speed of berth coordination with its clients through digital communication and secure data exchange.
Portchain Connect allows Westport Moss to receive real-time updates on schedules and movements directly from shipping lines' systems, enabling them to respond and submit counter-proposals quickly to align vessel schedules with the terminal's berthing plan.
"By joining Portchain Connect, we enhance our ability to coordinate vessel calls further in advance with shipping lines and respond more proactively to schedule changes. This ensures that Westport Moss offers greater predictability, better planning conditions, and more efficient cargo management for our clients," said Helge F. Instanes, Business Transformation Director at Westport Moss.
Portchain Connect optimizes the flow of schedule data to shorten the time required to align berthing windows. The platform allows terminals and shipping lines to share and receive quality data, and reduce delays in information transmission.
The system provides users with a simple overview of all their vessel calls and ensures the secure transfer of berthing information, eliminating the costs associated with manual non-digitized communication and aligning berthing windows to improve schedule reliability.
"We are pleased to welcome Westport Moss to the Portchain network. Better coordination between terminals and shipping lines facilitates more predictable vessel planning and contributes to more efficient port operations," said Thor Thorup, CCO and Co-founder of Portchain.
