The Tanzania Shipping Agencies recently announced changes to its transfer and handling charges that have affected transport rates for transit cargo via the Port of Dar es salaam. The revised charges are as outlined below;

  • ICD transfer (20ft and 40ft containers): USD 100
  • Handling charges: USD 50 for 20ft containers and USD 80 for 40ft containers

Maersk has adjusted its transport rates to reflect the externally driven cost movements following the TASAC review. These changes have been passed through strictly on a cost‑neutral basis, with no increase to Maersk's overall commercial margin.
