Ocean Network Express (ONE) plans to expand its operations in Latin America by 2030, with an emphasis on operational efficiency and reducing maritime transport emissions. During TOC Americas 2026, in Colombia, Erick Alarcón, Operations Manager for the region, highlighted the importance of integrating environmental criteria into logistics chains.
The shipping company promotes tools to measure carbon footprint and initiatives related to the use of alternative fuels, in addition to incorporating vessels of greater capacity and energy efficiency. These actions seek to respond to customer needs and strengthen the environmental performance of container transport.
Among the regional opportunities, ONE identifies the development of clean fuels and the expansion of shore power supply for vessels in Latin American ports. The progress of these initiatives will depend on energy infrastructure and coordination among sector stakeholders, key factors for more sustainable and competitive maritime logistics.
