Rubén Pérez Pinzón Assumes Role as Temporary Deputy Administrator of the Panama Canal

The Panama Canal Board of Directors has appointed Rubén Pérez Pinzón as the temporary deputy administrator of the interoceanic waterway. His assumption of the position will be effective on September 7.

In this regard, the Panama Canal Authority reported that "Pérez Pinzón will temporarily hold the position until the Board of Directors completes the selection and appointment process for the new deputy administrator, with the purpose of ensuring the continuity of the functions and responsibilities of that position."

Furthermore, details of his career were provided, stating that "he has held the management positions of Human Capital and Transit Resources, as well as leadership positions in Maritime Transport and Deck Assistance. From these responsibilities, he has contributed to generational succession planning and other matters related to the sustainability of the operation."

Regarding the new deputy administrator's education, it was added that "he holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the Universidad Católica Santa María La Antigua. He has master's degrees in Industrial Engineering (University of Louisville) and Business Administration (INCAE Business School). His executive training includes the Executive Development Program from INCAE and the General Management Program from Wharton School Executive Education (University of Pennsylvania)," the publication concluded.
