The MTC works in coordination with maritime sector stakeholders to create conditions that facilitate and make their work more efficient. The Minister of Transport and Communications, Rafael Rey Rey, and his technical team met with representatives of the Peruvian Association of Maritime Agents (APAM) —led by its president, Lizbeth Chu Rodríguez; director, Rocío Ponce Morante; and general manager, Sabino Zaconeta Torres— to address measures aimed at improving their operations and attending to their main requirements. Among the advancements is the authorization of specialized docks for receiving waste from merchant vessels in the port of Callao, among others. During the meeting, the minister and the National Port Authority (APN) addressed the requirements raised by sector representatives and committed to working on concrete solutions, coordinating with their technical team the necessary actions to respond to their needs and facilitate the development of their activities. These advancements are part of the MTC's work to identify sector needs and provide facilities that allow maritime agents to carry out their activities more efficiently, within the framework of current regulations. The MTC, through APN, will continue to promote spaces for dialogue and coordination with maritime and port operators, with the aim of addressing their requirements, improving processes, and contributing to a more competitive and dynamic sector.
