ABS Approves Nuclear-Powered 15,000 TEU Containership Design Concept

ABS awarded Approval in Principle for a nuclear-powered 15,000 TEU containership concept developed with KRISO and KAERI, using a small modular reactor with marine molten salt reactor design. The joint development project aims to assess technical feasibility of nuclear-powered merchant ships and establish safety frameworks for next-generation nuclear propulsion in commercial shipping.
