Five Iranian Oil Tankers Destroyed by U.S. Forces in Gulf of Oman
U.S. forces destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers Tuesday in the Gulf of Oman and near Kharg Island following ballistic missile attacks by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on a U.S. Navy warship. CENTCOM said crews abandoned the vessels before strikes rendered them inoperable. The strikes bring to eight the total number of Iranian tankers attacked since Sept. 5, as tensions around the Strait of Hormuz escalate.
