Jaxport Raises Transmission Lines to Allow Larger Ships to Blount Island
Jaxport, in collaboration with Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) and the City of Jacksonville, raised the electrical transmission lines in Fulton Cut from 56.39 meters to 68.58 meters, providing 62.48 meters of operational air draft. The project allows larger vessels to access the Blount Island terminal and supports international container trade, which generates 15,000 jobs in the region.
