Brasília, 09/25/2026 – Throughout last week, Agency inspectors visited five municipalities in the Northern Region to monitor the provision of inland navigation services. For the second time this year, Operation Hora Certa, by the National Waterway Transport Agency (ANTAQ), was carried out until Friday (18), with teams mobilized in Belém (PA), Santarém (PA), Manaus (AM), Porto Velho (RO), and Santana (AP).
The action aimed to inspect 84 vessels and the services provided by regulated companies operating in the region with longitudinal passenger and mixed transport. To this end, the teams monitored the operating lines and verified whether the services were in accordance with the guidelines authorized by ANTAQ. Aspects such as routes, schedules, and frequency of trips, as well as the vessels used, were observed. Any changes in the operation that might be inconsistent with what was planned were also verified.

The name of Operation Hora Certa (Right Time) originates from the strategy adopted by the teams. Inspections are carried out, whenever possible, close to the scheduled departure and arrival times of the vessels. In this way, inspectors can compare the service found in the field with what was authorized by ANTAQ and verify compliance with scheduled times.
The verified information was recorded by the field teams, and the results will be released in a report to be sent to the Regional Units Coordination Management (GCOR/SFC) by October 23rd.
