CENTCOM Conducts Verification Boarding of Tanker Charminar in Arabian Sea
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported conducting a verification boarding of the oil/chemical tanker Charminar in the Arabian Sea on 25 July as part of ongoing enforcement of the U.S. naval blockade against Iran. The 2005-built vessel, sailing under the Comoros flag and measuring 183 meters in length, was allowed to continue its voyage after inspection. Since reinstating the blockade, the U.S. has redirected 12 commercial vessels, disabled two that failed to comply, and boarded two others to verify compliance.
