A delegation of executives from Nuevo Pudahuel Airport visited the facilities of Port Valparaíso. The objective of the tour was to exchange experiences and promote logistical coordination between both venues.
Through a press release, Port Valparaíso provided details of the meeting, reporting that the air terminal delegation was interested in "learning about the operation of Silogport and the collaborative model promoted by the Valparaíso Logistics Forum (Folovap). The visit responded to the airport concessionaire's interest in analyzing applicable alternatives for Santiago's air cargo terminal."
It was also added that "they learned details about the system's implementation, access automation processes, traceability, and real-time operational monitoring. The delegation especially highlighted Silogport's ability to integrate operational efficiency, logistical control, and higher security standards."
"The visit concluded with a field tour of different operational points of the port, including automated gates, self-service systems, and monitoring centers. After the experience, Nuevo Pudahuel representatives valued the level of technological development achieved by Port Valparaíso, describing it as a relevant benchmark for addressing the future challenges of airport logistics in Chile," the circular added.
In this regard, Juan Marcos Mancilla, Logistics Manager of Port Valparaíso, stated that "for us, the visit from the Nuevo Pudahuel concessionaire was very important, because for them, as they expressed, we are a benchmark in logistical operations and how, through our PCS Silogport system, they see opportunities opening up for them in terms of access control, security, and efficiency for their cargo terminal at Santiago airport."
Meanwhile, Paola Aceituno, Deputy Manager of Transport Real Estate at Nuevo Pudahuel, indicated that "we are the country's main airport and handle Chile's main air cargo, and learning about the best practices of those who are a benchmark for us, such as the port of Valparaíso, is tremendously important for bringing those best practices to all the air cargo development we want to undertake. Hence, the purpose of this visit and being able to learn from a very good benchmark; we know they have done very well, hence our interest in learning about the work EPV has done and bringing those practical methods to all the development we now want to implement," the statement concluded.
