Odin opens operations in Immingham to expand services in the UK

Odin is expanding its services to the United Kingdom with the creation of Odin Transport & Shipping UK Ltd., with its own organization at the Port of Immingham, where customers will soon have greater control over their transport between continental Europe and the UK, from planning to customs and return loads.

For many years, Odin has offered warehousing, container transport, and European distribution services to international clients from the Port of Rotterdam. The demand for reliable transport solutions to and from the UK has been increasing, and with Odin Transport & Shipping UK, it is now taking another step.

"By also having our own organization in the UK, we can respond more quickly, manage quality more effectively, and offer customers a single point of contact for the entire route," said Joeri Galas, CFO of Odin Logistics.

The new subsidiary does not operate in isolation. Odin Transport & Shipping UK is based on Welton North Sea Trailers, a company that Odin acquired earlier this year. Its team brings years of experience and a strong network of contacts in the British market, knowledge that the new organization can directly leverage.

To further expand its services, the fleet is being expanded with 50 to 100 additional trucks. The new organization also works with its own carriers, allowing Odin greater control over capacity and quality throughout the route.

In practice, Odin Transport & Shipping UK will initially focus on accompanied and unaccompanied trailer transport between the UK and continental Europe. From Immingham, British planning, contact with local customers, customs coordination, and the preparation of return loads are organized in close collaboration with Odin's transport and warehousing activities in the Netherlands and with the existing network of carriers and logistics partners.

The choice of Immingham is not accidental. The region is an important logistics hub for the flow of goods between the UK and Northwest Europe, and has good connections to Rotterdam and the rest of the Benelux.

For Odin, this goes beyond opening a new branch. "For us, this represents a significant step forward. We are building a network where local knowledge, reliable carriers, and our own logistics organization converge. This increases the reliability of deliveries for our customers and, at the same time, generates new cargo flows and growth opportunities for our partners and for Odin," explained Galas.

The activities of Odin Transport & Shipping UK will be progressively expanded in the coming months. The initial priority is to consolidate stable cargo flows, develop long-term customer relationships, and integrate the British operation into Odin's systems and working methods.
