Callao and PortMiami Sign Sister Port Agreement Between Peru and the US

The Port of Callao and PortMiami signed a "sister port" agreement to strengthen maritime and port cooperation between Peru and the United States. The agreement includes an investment of USD 1.47 billion to expand the South Pier and implement the Callao Anteport. The US Ambassador to Peru, Bernie Navarro, highlighted his country's interest in participating in the modernization of the port, which moved 2.079 million TEUs in 2025.

The Port of Callao and PortMiami signed a "sister port" agreement to strengthen maritime and port cooperation between Peru and the United States. The initiative includes the development of joint projects and new opportunities for logistics activities.

This agreement is part of a modernization and expansion process for Callao's port infrastructure. Among the projects is an investment proposal of USD 1.47 billion to expand the South Pier, in addition to the implementation of the Callao Anteport.

During the signing, the US Ambassador to Peru, Bernie Navarro, highlighted the importance of Callao and his country's interest in participating in its modernization process. The port moved 2.079 million TEUs in 2025 and has an installed capacity of up to 2.7 million TEUs annually.
