The Superintendence of the Port of Itajaí (SPI) began cleanup operations in the Itajaí-Açu River channel on Tuesday, October 27th, at 8 AM, removing logs, branches, and other materials carried by recent rains and increased currents, conditions associated with the effects of El Niño.
The action is being carried out in conjunction with the Itajaí City Hall and aims to reinforce navigation safety and maintain the operational conditions of the Port Complex.
The SPI clarifies that the accumulation of these materials has not compromised the navigability of the channel or the safety of port operations. The cleanup is a preventive measure to ensure the maintenance of navigation conditions.
