2026-09-18. The Port Authority of Castellón has concluded its participation in the international fair Seatrade Cruise Med 2026 with significant progress for the consolidation of PortCastelló on the global map of boutique cruising. Among the main achievements is the confirmation of three new calls for the year 2028 by Marella Cruises. These operations add to the call previously negotiated for the 2027 season, strengthening the shipping company's presence in the port of Castellón and ensuring a perspective of continuity in the port of Castellón.
The outcome of the event held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria confirms the interest in Castellón's port model, which has not only attracted the attention of shipping operators but also that of investors and tourism agents interested in developing sustainable infrastructure and experiences in the Castellón area.
The president of the Port Authority of Castellón, Rubén Ibáñez, highly valued the results of the trade mission: «Our presence at Seatrade Med not only reinforces our more than 20 calls already confirmed for the next two years but also demonstrates that the market recognizes and wants the PortCastelló model".
He added that "we are attracting the interest of top-tier investors and shipping companies because we offer a differentiated, agile, and uncrowded proposal, directly linked to the cultural, natural, and gastronomic richness of the province.»
Contacts with the premium and investor segment
During the working days at the international forum, the Castellón delegation established commercial contacts with companies specializing in the premium and high value-added segment, including Atlas Ocean Voyages, Mystic Cruises, Scenic Cruises, Aman at Sea, and Seabourn Cruises. These firms have shown interest in finalizing future cruise calls aimed at travelers with high purchasing power.
For her part, the manager of the PortCastelló Foundation, Susana Soria, highlighted the success of the presentation of the port of Castellón at the fair. "We have made an immersive presentation that recreates the destination experience and highlighted the combination of proximity and diversity of our city and our province," she explained.
Castellón, a destination of contrasts
PortCastelló's new strategy presents the province as "one province, multiple worlds to discover." The Mediterranean Sea coexists with natural spaces, mountains, historic towns, and gastronomy linked to local products. Ceramics, citrus fruits, olive oil, wine, and agricultural tradition are part of an identity that the port wants to convey to cruise passengers.
Among the proposals are destinations such as Peñíscola, Vilafamés, Onda, Benicàssim, Oropesa, and Burriana, as well as natural spaces such as the Desert de les Palmes and the landscapes of the interior of the province.
The offer is completed with gastronomic, cultural, artisanal, nature, wellness, and lifestyle experiences, adaptable to different passenger profiles.
