Ultraport concluded Port Worker Month by reaching its goal of 2,000 workers certified in labor competencies by ChileValora and implementing the "Speak Up for Safety" campaign across all its operations, from Arica to Punta Arenas.
"Along with nearly ten years of work, during 2026, the company promoted certification processes in Arica, Antofagasta, Coquimbo, Valparaíso, and Punta Arenas, formally recognizing the competencies of operators, supervisors, foremen, and other port workers who perform key functions for cargo movement and Chilean foreign trade," the Chilean company reported.
In this regard, Francisco Godoy Zamorano, Ultraport's People and Organizational Development Manager, stated that "people and our organizational culture have historically been our distinguishing hallmark. Our purpose is to care for people and foster their development, driving the growth of Chile's main ports."
"Reaching 2,000 certified workers is a significant milestone, as it reflects our commitment to their development and concrete recognition of the experience, knowledge, and contribution they make every day," he added.
Along with this achievement, Ultraport highlighted the nationwide launch of the "Speak Up for Safety" campaign, an initiative that has been underway since June in all the company's operations, from Arica to Punta Arenas, promoting a preventive culture based on mutual care, effective communication, and self-care.
The campaign seeks to strengthen workers' active participation in the timely identification and reporting of risks, reinforcing the conviction that safety is everyone's responsibility and that each person plays a fundamental role in incident prevention.
Through participatory activities, reflection spaces, and actions developed directly on-site, the initiative encourages teams to share experiences, raise alerts, and contribute to building safer work environments.
"Safety is strengthened when people feel heard and empowered to act. With this campaign, we want to reinforce that every worker has the ability and responsibility to speak up in the face of a risky situation. This individual and collective commitment is essential to ensure increasingly safe, efficient, and sustainable operations," specified the People and Organizational Development Manager.
For Ultraport, both milestones represent complementary dimensions of the same vision: developing capabilities and strengthening an organizational culture where people are protagonists.
"While certification recognizes and validates workers' technical knowledge, the Speak Up for Safety campaign fosters the trust and commitment necessary to apply that knowledge for their own care and that of others," the company stated.
"In this way, the company concludes Port Worker Month by reaffirming its commitment to the growth of people, the safety of its teams, and the operational excellence that continues to drive the development of Chile's main ports," it concluded.
