The Vietnam-flagged general cargo vessel Star City ran aground after drifting in Chân Mây Bay in Vietnam on 12 September. All 17 crew were safe, and no pollution was reported.

The incident occurred at 8:55 am local time while the vessel was carrying 22 tonnes of diesel and 225 tonnes of fuel oil. The vessel ran aground after drifting onto a sandbar about 1.3 nautical miles from the navigation channel.
On the next day, two tugboats, Chan May 2 and Quang Da, were dispatched to assist with refloating operations. The tugboats connected towlines and successfully pulled the Star City off the sandbar.
Following the successful refloating, the 150-meter-long vessel was towed to Chan May Anchorage where the authorities would conduct an inspection including checks of its hull and overall condition, before it is permitted to resume its voyage.
