Panama Canal 2027 Budget of B/.5,555 Million Approved

The National Assembly of Deputies approved in the third debate the proposed budget for the Panama Canal for fiscal year (FY) 2027, amounting to B/.5,555 million for the period between October 1, 2026, and September 30, 2027.

The budget's priorities are to protect the business, ensure the continuity and sustainability of operations, and prepare the Canal for the future.

For FY 2027, direct contributions to the National Treasury are estimated at B/.3,608 million, which represents B/.414 million (12.9%) more than the B/.3,194 million contemplated in the approved budget for FY 2026.

The budget for FY 2027 strengthens the Canal's capacity to face challenging hydrological and operational conditions, sustain the route's competitiveness, and responsibly advance investments that will support its long-term development.
