With the aim of modernizing the national transport system and strengthening the institutional management of the sector, the Vice Minister of Transport, Gabriela Carrasco Carrasco, held a working meeting with Rafael Capristán, Transport Specialist of the Inter-American Development Bank (BID) in Peru.
During the meeting, cooperation and financing areas were reviewed, focused not only on infrastructure projects but also on institutional strengthening and efficient sector management.
The BID reiterated its support for the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) by offering financing lines for projects, institutional strengthening, and technical assistance. Among the three key topics prioritized for evaluation are attention and intervention in road infrastructure, road safety, and the development of transport systems.
As part of the collaborative work between the MTC and the BID, the arrival of an international mission from the multilateral organization in October was confirmed, which will allow for the consolidation of technical cooperation and project financing agreements.
