Oil Tanker Rates in Black Sea Hit Record High Amid Drone Attacks
Daily earnings for oil tankers on the Black Sea-Mediterranean route surged to $440,948, the highest since July 2008, after drone attacks disrupted operations. The rate jumped 140% since early July, driving down CPC Blend crude prices to their lowest in over a year. Shipments are set to fall by a third this month due to repeated terminal disruptions near Novorossiysk, though Ukraine agreed not to target non-Russian tankers following US-involved talks.
