Navigating nature's limits: How Maersk and WEG partnered to overcome the Amazon's dry season challenges
WEG S.A., a global leader in electrical engineering, partnered with Maersk to transport three massive transformers totaling 635 tons through the Amazon during the dry season. The operation employed a multi-modal logistics strategy combining road, sea, and river transport with real-time water level monitoring. The transformers arrived on time and in perfect condition, supporting Brazil's R$ 5.8 billion Azulão gas field project, which will generate 950 MW of power.
