NYK Line completes first ship-to-ship ammonia bunkering for ammonia-fueled vessel

NYK Line, in collaboration with Japan Marine United Corporation, Nihon Shipyard, Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, and Kokuka Sangyo, successfully completed the world's first ship-to-ship (STS) ammonia bunkering operation for an ammonia-fueled vessel. The transfer took place at the Ariake Shipyard from the vessel Shoei Maru to an ammonia-fueled medium gas carrier (AFMGC), scheduled for delivery in November 2026, in preparation for sea trials.
