45 Students from Alto Hospicio Tour Iquique Port Facilities

A delegation of 45 students from the Alto Hospicio commune visited the facilities of the Port of Iquique. On this occasion, they were third-year students specializing in Business Administration from Liceo Bicentenario William Taylor.

This event is part of the "Live Your Port" initiative, promoted by the Iquique Port Company (EPI). In this regard, the state-owned company reported that "during the day, the young people were able to learn firsthand about the main operational, logistical, and foreign trade aspects that drive activity in the Port of Iquique, understanding the strategic role of port infrastructure in the economic development of the Tarapacá Region and its connection with international markets."

"The talk addressed the importance for future generations of technicians and professionals to understand the port's operations and the challenges of the maritime-port sector, highlighting the various areas and job opportunities generated by the dynamism of foreign trade," added EPI.

Regarding the visit, Pamela Vivanco, a third-year student, stated that "it seemed like a unique visit to us. I never thought I would be here, that I would learn so much about the importance of this port. I feel it is very interesting, and also learning about the relevance of Iquique is fascinating."

Finally, EPI indicated that "the initiative seeks to reduce the gap between the educational and professional worlds, and was the result of coordinated work by the academic team of Liceo Bicentenario, composed of teachers Sofía Jara, Juan Zárate, and Karina Olivares, in conjunction with the collaboration of the Tarapacá Technical Future Network (a program promoted by the Ministry of Education and executed by the consulting firm Conexium)," concluded the statement.
