57 Villonaco III Blades Begin Transfer from Puerto Bolívar to Loja

The Villonaco III wind project has completed the arrival of 57 blades for its wind turbines in Ecuador. The last 27 units arrived at Puerto Bolívar, in El Oro, where they are undergoing nationalization and customs clearance processes. The 348-kilometer transfer to Loja is scheduled for the last week of September with special convoys. Villonaco III includes 19 wind turbines with a capacity of 112.1 megawatts, with integration into the Ecuadorian electrical system in 2027.

The Villonaco III wind project has completed the arrival of 57 blades for its wind turbines in Ecuador. The last 27 units arrived at Puerto Bolívar, in El Oro, where they remain while undergoing nationalization and customs clearance processes.

Each blade is approximately 75 meters long, so its transfer to Loja will require a special operation with convoys, pilot vehicles, and transport platforms. The start of the mobilization is tentatively scheduled for the last week of September, subject to the corresponding authorizations.

The blades will travel a 348-kilometer route from Puerto Bolívar to the Y de Chuquiribamba, crossing sectors of El Oro, Azuay, and Loja. Villonaco III includes 19 wind turbines and an installed capacity of 112.1 megawatts, with planned integration into the Ecuadorian electrical system in 2027.
