Brendan Connell, Port of Brisbane's executive GM sustainability and corporate relations, was re-elected chair at Wednesday's Australian Cruise Association board of management meeting.
Andrew McKinnon of the South Australian Tourism Commission was elected deputy chair, replacing Kristy Little of TasPorts whose six-year tenure on the ACA board concluded this month.
Martin Bidgood, GM cruise at the Port Authority of New South Wales, remains as treasurer.
Fellow board members are Shayne Murray (Cruise Broome), Joanne Brown (Intercruises Shoreside and Port Services), Mladen Vukic (APT Travel Group) and Aletta Macdonald (Tourism Tasmania).
"We are delighted to see Brendan and Martin re-elected to their respective positions as chair and treasurer and to welcome Andrew to the executive as deputy chair," CEO Jill Abel said.
"Their collective expertise and deep knowledge of the cruise and tourism sectors will be invaluable as we navigate the current operating environment and work to create the conditions for renewed growth in Australia's cruise industry," Abel said.
"The ACA board is a strong reflection of the diversity of our membership across ports, destinations, service providers and cruise operators.
"With our Strategic Action Plan providing a clear framework for the work ahead, we will remain focused on addressing the barriers to growth, strengthening Australia's competitiveness and ensuring our country is well positioned to capture future cruise opportunities."
