AIDAperla loses moorings and strikes quay wall in Le Havre port

Cruise ship AIDAperla broke away from its berth in Le Havre on September 8th due to strong winds gusting at ~35 mph. Several mooring lines at the forward section broke, causing the vessel's stern to contact the quay wall. Around 500 passengers ashore on excursions were temporarily unable to reboard. Tugboats assisted in securing the ship, and no injuries were reported. The incident led to cancellation of AIDAperla's September 9th call at Zeebrugge.
