Odin Schiffsausruestung, a Bremerhaven-based supplier serving approximately 120 river cruise ships weekly during peak season, reroutes its own truck fleet to manage delivery disruptions caused by low water levels across European rivers. The family-operated business, founded in 1987 and employing nearly 100 staff during peak season, maintains vertical integration by operating its own customs department and truck fleet, stocking more than 12,000 items including specialty dietary products. This in-house model provides flexibility competitors relying on external freight forwarders lack when vessels are diverted to unintended destinations.
