A Russian drone struck a Tanzanian-flagged merchant ship en route to a Ukrainian port, killing its captain and injuring three crew members, Kyiv reported. "Information regarding the technical condition of the vessel is being verified," stated Ukraine's Ministry of Reconstruction, Infrastructure, and Transport. The state department, which did not disclose the name of the affected vessel, accused Moscow of carrying out systematic attacks against Ukrainian port infrastructure and civilian commercial navigation. "These attacks create additional risks for crews, international maritime transport, and the stability of logistical routes in the Black Sea," the agency noted. Furthermore, the ministry stated that Ukraine continues to work jointly with international partners to strengthen the protection of civilian maritime traffic, preserve logistical corridors, and prevent a further escalation of security risks in the Black Sea basin. Russia has not commented on the accusations.
