New strategic partnership combines ECOncrete's patented technology with Submar's proven articulated concrete mats to protect coastlines, pipelines, and offshore assets while supporting marine habitat
NEW YORK and THIBODAUX, La., Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- ECOncrete, the leading bio-enhancing marine concrete technology developer, and Submar, an industry leader in design-build erosion control solutions and infrastructure protection, today announced a new strategic partnership focused on bringing more environmentally responsible protection solutions to the Gulf Coast and offshore markets.
Under the new commercial agreement, Submar will manufacture, market, and distribute its signature articulated concrete revetment mats, commonly known as the Submar Mat, incorporating ECOncrete's patented bio-enhancing technology throughout the Gulf coast and offshore region.
This partnership follows a successful two-year collaboration during which the two companies produced more than 1,000 Mats for multiple marine projects. By integrating ECOncrete's proven bio-enhancing technology directly into Submar's widely used concrete mat, the companies are providing a hard-armoring solution that does more than protect infrastructure. The system is designed to help support marine life and local habitat while providing the erosion protection and stability that critical infrastructure requires.
The enhanced Submar Mat – Powered by ECOncrete is designed for a range of applications across the Gulf, including energy, telecommunications, maritime infrastructure, coastal restoration, and shoreline protection. Offshore applications include transmission lines, gas pipelines, subsea cables, and floating and fixed energy assets. Nearshore and coastal applications can serve municipalities, port authorities, waterfront agencies, and contractors working to stabilize and restore shorelines.
