Maersk Less-than-Container Load (LCL) Surcharge Information 2026 Bangladesh CFS Charges Revision

We would like to inform you of a revision to Container Freight Station (CFS) related charges in Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh Inland Container Depots Association (BICDA) has announced a 9.85% fuel surcharge on the last reviewed rates for specified container handling and transportation activities at private Inland Container Depots (ICDs), effective 21 September 2026.

The revision follows an increase in the government-set diesel price from BDT 115/litre to BDT 135/litre, representing an increase of approximately 17.4%.

The revised charges will apply to the following LCL activities:

• Empty container transportation/haulage between Chattogram Port/PCT and ICDs
• Empty container lift-on/lift-off activities
• Export cargo stuffing and handling
• Export loaded container VGM activities
• Import cargo delivery activities

As a result, applicable CFS/ICD charges associated with LCL shipments handled through private ICDs in Bangladesh will be revised in line with the BICDA circular.

Effective date: 21 September 2026

We kindly request our customers to take note of this change while planning upcoming shipments. Maersk will apply the relevant revised charges, where applicable, in accordance with the effective date and applicable shipment conditions.
