DP World launches rail corridor for vehicles from Belgium to Romania
DP World completed its first finished vehicle rail operation from Zeebrugge, Belgium to Aiud, Romania, establishing a new intermodal corridor for southeastern Europe. The pilot service will operate twice monthly from mid-2026, reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 55% compared to long-haul road transport. The Aiud terminal, a 180,000 m² facility opened in 2024 following a €21 million investment, will serve as a regional distribution hub.
