As of 1 November, Kevin van Drongelen has been appointed Director Bulk & Port Services. In this position, he is responsible for the continued development of the bulk sector and maritime services in Rotterdam. He succeeds Danny Levenswaard, who, as of 1 September, became Vice President Commercial at SOHAR Port, where the Port of Rotterdam Authority is a co-shareholder.

Kevin van Drongelen

Van Drongelen possesses a wealth of international experience in the maritime sector. He began his career with Holland American Line, where he progressed from fourth officer up to Staff Captain, a position in which he led large international teams. In recent years, he worked at the Harbour Master’s Division of the Port of Rotterdam Authority in the role of Manager Vessel Traffic Services. Under his leadership, various initiatives were developed that contributed to more efficient processes, improved information provision and future-proof support for shipping in the port of Rotterdam.

In his new role, Van Drongelen will focus on the continued growth and strengthening of the dry bulk, breakbulk, offshore and RoRo segments, as well as maritime and nautical services. His responsibilities will include the development of a Customer Support Desk, guaranteeing high-quality and efficient operational services, including the KING buoy and dolphin offering, and the further improvement of customer satisfaction through the standardisation and optimisation of processes.

Matthijs van Doorn, Vice President Commercial at Port of Rotterdam Authority: “With his broad knowledge of the maritime sector, extensive experience with complex stakeholder environments and a connective leadership style, Kevin is the ideal person to make a major contribution to the further development of Rotterdam’s bulk sector and maritime services. I look forward to working with him to further strengthen our collaboration with customers and supply chain partners.”
