Salvage Operations Move MSC Baltic III Wreck 53 Meters Closer to Shore

Wreck removal crews have pulled the grounded containership MSC Baltic III approximately 53 meters toward shore in Newfoundland and Labrador. Resolve Marine has removed about 4,200 tonnes of material, representing roughly 40% of the wreck's total tonnage. Of 472 containers originally aboard, 471 were previously removed. The vessel grounded in February 2025 and pulling operations began on July 31. Environmental monitoring continues as a major priority throughout the dismantling process.
