Port of Santos Museum promotes inclusive Libras visit for people with hearing impairment

The Port of Santos Museum held an inclusive visit on Tuesday (22) to promote its Libras service. This service is one of the accessibility initiatives presented by the museum during the month of its 37th anniversary, celebrated on September 1st.

The visit to the Port Museum is guided by port assistants and can be translated into Libras through an application available to all visitors with hearing impairment.

The visit, carried out by the Congregação Santista de Surdos (CSS) / Centro de Inclusão Educacional para Surdos (Cies), also marked the National Day of Struggle for People with Disabilities, celebrated on Monday (21).

After the special visit, which was translated live by a Libras interpreter, participants had the opportunity to explore the Port of Santos navigation channel through a technical tour on a catamaran.

The event was organized by the Port Cultural Complex Advisory in partnership with the Diversity Committee of the Santos Port Authority (APS) and the accessibility social tech company ICOM.

This action is nationally aligned with the 20th Museum Spring, whose theme is "Museums for all people," reinforcing the Port Museum's commitment to telling the history of Latin America's largest port to an ever-growing audience.
