Fire on Doña Mimi Ship Activates Operation in Strait of Magellan

MRCC Punta Arenas activated an operation due to a fire on board the Chilean-flagged vessel Doña Mimi, measuring 82 meters in length and 13 meters in beam, which was navigating through the Strait of Magellan. All ten crew members are in good health. The barges Biomasa IX and Colchagua were coordinated to tow the vessel to a safe anchorage area, under constant monitoring by the Maritime Authority.
