Suape Evaluates OPS System for Renewable Energy Supply to Ships

The Suape Port Industrial Complex has initiated studies to implement a Shore Power Supply (OPS) system, allowing berthed vessels to connect to land-based electrical infrastructure. The analyses will assess energy demand, ship compatibility, and necessary dock adaptations. CEO Armando Monteiro Bisneto highlighted that the project aims to reconcile operational efficiency with emission reduction, while Sustainability Director Sóstenes Alcoforado explained that the most suitable solution will be identified considering technical, environmental, and economic aspects.
